The Travel Page

One of the things we love as a family is travelling. It is so good to witness the way other people live, what they do and what they eat.

So if you are looking for hotel reviews here then don't go any further. There is nothing better than visiting a local market or grocers shop and buying what the locals buy and take it back to your cottage or flat and trying it yourself. So these pages will hopefully give you an insight to the places we have visited. Many of them are normal places which you may have been to yourself. But others are hopefully a little more off the beaten track.

Whether it may be something as simple as home made pasta in Italy, fresh clams dug up on the beaches of France, delicious plate of baby squid made by a local resident or even a restaurant which is actually in someone's living room then if you fancy it maybe we can point you in the right direction.

Recently we have taken to visiting what is now called Central Europe. It used to be Eastern Europe but funny how things can move these days. As I say on the Lithuania page, I am quite sure that our governments lied to us in the cold war days. Many of these countries are beautiful places with extremely warm and welcoming people. And of course, nowadays they are realising the benefits of tourism.

Cheap air fares make it so easy to visit countries you had probably never heard of a few years ago. I am not going to discuss global warming or carbon footprints in these pages - that is your own decision and you must make up your own mind how you feel about these things.

As this site develops I hope to add a 'wiki' to let others add content to the travel pages and I would love to hear your reports as well. In the meantime however, if you have anything to add, please send me an email.

So now simply find a place in the left hand column and click the link...
